Summer classics in Kadriorg. Tiit Tomp
As evening falls, Kadriorg unveils a peaceful soul of Tallinn. The Baroque-style Kadriorg Palace—an architectural gem and a symbol of Estonian cultural heritage offers not only a concert experience but also a rich encounter with art. With a bit of planning, visitors can explore the art museum and take in the serene beauty of the surrounding park.
LIFT mentoring programme presents: Idylls
Tiit Tomp (piano)
Programme:
Respighi. Six Pieces for Piano
Debussy. Ballade L. 70
Brahms. Piano Sonata no. 3 in F minor op. 5
I curated this programme because I felt it captured the summer atmosphere of Kadriorg Palace more effectively than other options. I was particularly keen to perform Respighi, as I have rarely heard these pieces played in Estonia, or indeed elsewhere. It is a pleasure to introduce such fine music to the audience. I have recently developed a strong affinity for both Respighi and Debussy, and performing works that I have not previously explored extensively provides a rewarding challenge.
