“Home” is a programme shaped by memories, distance, and a yearning for a sense of belonging. As an Estonian American who has spent most of my life away from Estonia, I have often felt the quiet ache of homesickness. I have reflected on how multifaceted the word “home” can be – it is simultaneously deeply familiar and yet sometimes feels out of reach. This performance at Kadriorg Palace serves as a personal meditation on these very emotions. Through the compositions of Gershwin, Debussy, Schubert, Dvořák, and my brother, Jonas Tarm, the recital traverses various emotional landscapes: intimacy, nostalgia, tenderness, and solitude. At its heart is the notion that home is not merely a place, but also a memory, a language, and a sound – the part of ourselves that endures even when we are far away.

This concert is presented by LIFT, a mentorship initiative launched by Eesti Kontsert to assist gifted young classical performers at the start of their professional lives. Duration: appr. 1 h (no intermission) Summer classics in Kadriorg As evening falls, Kadriorg unveils a peaceful soul of Tallinn. The Baroque-style Kadriorg Palace—an architectural gem and a symbol of Estonian cultural heritage offers not only a concert experience but also a rich encounter with art. With a bit of planning, visitors can explore the art museum and take in the serene beauty of the surrounding park.
