Big Painting Saturday

Big Painting Day is an inspirational, playful and educational art festival that takes place in Kadriorg each year, on the last Saturday in May. The museum welcomes all art and nature lovers no matter their age or experience.

The task of the art museum is to preserve, examine and show artworks as widely as possible. For the museum, it is very important to help all people develop their creativity and promote creative self-expression. We organise this event annually to give everyone a chance to enjoy the process of making art and the fruits of artists’ labour.

Throughout the day, there will be themed tours and drawing classes in the Kadriorg Art Museum, as well as en plein air drawing and painting in the Baroque park surrounding the palace. The art museum welcomes to Big Painting Saturday both professional and amateur painters, and all children and adults who love art.

In 2020, Big Painting Saturday takes place on 30 May. This year, the event is linked to the grand art exhibition From Memling to Rubens. The Golden Age of Flanders, and celebrates the 20th anniversary of the restoration of the Kadriorg Art Museum and its beautiful flower garden. For this reason, the theme of this year’s Painting Day is flowers in art and in nature.

Come and draw or paint en plein air!

En plein air painting is free for everyone.

Participants can visit the museum on the same day at a discounted price of 2 €.
